Gathering Shadows 2021 - Three Night Festival Of Darkness Announced

Aotearoa's children of the night will be congregating at Shadowplay's inaugural "three night festival of darkness" Gathering Shadows, taking over the hallowed halls of Pōneke's Valhalla and San Fran in late January 2021. Embracing a supernatural spectrum of gloomy sonic visions from throughout NZ's subterranean music community, including goth, industrial, post punk, darkwave, showgaze and much more, Gathering Shadows will also get vampiric blood pumping with a Saturday selection of dancefloor igniting DJs. Horror In Clay channels the psychic equivalent of the Oprah Winfrey book club to bring the Sesame Street lottery results.

Low Vision is nouveau synthy goth-step and spooky doom noise.

Mina’s Veil plays darkly romantic concertos for soprano and orchestra, invoking the spirits of Byron, Shelley and Poe.

Robots In Love is darkly beautiful electronic music created by Elenor Rayner which moves easily from ethereal to industrial.

Slow is Fraser Austin and Lucy Beeler. They take their penchant for individually crafting sad-synthpop and started a trad. band: Vox/Guitar/Bass/Drum machine. Both heartbroken optimists, Slow soundtracks your break-ups and break-downs and will happily play at the wake of your enemies. Shoegaze shuffle for romantic skeptics.

Undiscovered Moons of Saturn began as a solo dark ambient project at the turn of the century, and has progressed through several eras of change in the expanse of the cosmos. 2021 hearkens the fifths era of the UMOS Arkestra with 6 messengers of the void, bringing disharmonic ritual doom and heavenly chaotic melodies that draw you into the magellanic abyss.
