Sharon Van Etten Shares Single 'Let Go' From The Film 'Feels Good Man'

Chris Cudby / Wednesday 14th October, 2020 9:18AM

The boundlessly talented Sharon Van Etten has a new song named 'Let Go' out today, featured on the soundtrack to Feels Good Man — a documentary about US cartoonist / illustrator Matt Furie, whose fun-loving creation Pepe The Frog was distressingly co-opted by alt-right scumbags in recent years. A dreamy, lighter-waving anthem with drums at the forefront recalling Jesus & Mary Chain or The Shangri-Las, the single deploys a widescreen sound to grapple with big feelings of loss and hope for the future, created with Feels Good Man producer Giorgio Angelini and composer Mike Semple. The Brooklyn songwriter and actor shared her thoughts around the tune on social media: "After watching the documentary, I followed the feeling of coming to terms with something and tried to evoke peace through my melody and words. I hope that resonates with you. X"
