Samara Alofa dedicates their new single 'Dnt Care' to Tongan deity Hikule'o. Written, recorded, mixed and mastered by the Tāmaki-based honey-voiced artist, who weaves through glimpses of 'Me'etu'upaki' on the track, a chant said to appease the gods, sampled from Chants From The Kingdom Of Tonga. They sing to the pain inflicted on goddess Hikule'o, and the "conflict and hurt in our immediate, inner and outer worlds" caused by entrenched patriarchal heteronormativity. Samara Alofa's looping guitar and soulful vocals will draw you into 'Dnt Care', the first single from their forthcoming album EARTH PUNK, out November 18th via Coco Solid's Kuini Qontrol.
