Reuben Samuel Winter 'Up In Smoke' Memorial Event Announced

Friends and whānau of dearly missed Tāmaki Makaurau music legend Reuben Samuel Winter (Totems, milk, Caroles, Bandicoot, KCB), have put together a very special event in celebration of his inspirational spirit on 30th November at Karangahape Road's Whammy Bar. All proceeds from the Up in Smoke memorial gig will "be utilised for future releases of Reuben’s music and other projects and events in his honour" — here's the details direct from the organisers...

"Up in Smoke’ is a collaborative event in memory of Reuben Samuel Winter. Reuben’s prolific presence in the music community means this night will provide a unique experience to remember him as the inspirational person he was. Friends Iskse_, Charlie (OPI), P.H.F, Bad Friend, Roidz and special guests will gather to celebrate Reuben and his musical legacy.

It is our priority to facilitate an environment for those who loved, knew and admired Reuben to feel safe in expressing our collective grief. As such, we ask that attendees be conscious of one anothers vulnerabilities during this time. Our kaupapa is that this is a space for aroha, and there will be zero tolerance of harassment, violence, discrimination, drunkenness or insensitivity. Please notify Whammy staff, security or the door person if you or someone you know feels unsafe.

This event will be postponed in the circumstance that Tāmaki Makaurau changes alert levels."
