The Veils 'Nux Vomica' Nationwide Tour Announced

The Veils 'Nux Vomica' Nationwide Tour Announced

Chris Cudby / Thursday 10th December, 2020 9:21AM

Making their almighty return in early 2021, Devonport sensations The Veils have announced a very special concert tour of Aotearoa, performing their sophomore album Nux Vomica in its entirety for the first time ever this coming April and May. Originally released in 2006 and recorded in Los Angeles with producer Nick Launay (PiL, Nick Cave, Yeah Yeah Yeahs), Nux Vomica represented a darker, more ornate and raw-spirited direction for the group, gifting their global fanbase (which includes such significant figures as David Lynch) such standout anthems as 'Advice For Young Mothers To Be', 'Calliope', 'One Night on Earth' and 'Jesus For the Jugular'. These shows will most likely be your only chance to experience Finn Andrews and band performing Nux Vomica in its entirely, plus favourites from across their back catalogue and even the promise of new material too — we recommend you snap up tickets while you can...

Press release:

In Autumn 2021, The Veils present the first ever live performance of their legendary sophomore album Nux Vomica in its ferocious entirety.

The album was originally recorded in Los Angeles with producer Nick Launay (PiL, Nick Cave, Yeah Yeah Yeahs) and has acquired iconic status since its release on Rough Trade Records in 2006.

Audiences across New Zealand will be treated to live renditions of the singles Advice For Young Mothers To Be, Calliope & One Night on Earth as well as the title track Nux Vomica (used to great effect by Italian film director Paulo Sorrentino in his early masterpiece Il Divo) and the cataclysmic, roof-raising Jesus For the Jugular.
