Watch ARIA's New Video For 'Unravel'

With an artistic resume that includes recordings alongside such key local figures as Home Brew, Noah Slee and Teeks, multi-talented songwriter ARIA has launched a stunning new audio-visual collaboration with director Morgana O’Reilly, star of nail-biting NZ spookfest Housebound (2014). Friends since the age of thirteen, their video for ARIA's second single 'Unravel' is in fact O'Reilly's debut in the director's chair. 'Unravel' casts the classically trained singer / actor in a chameleonic variety of roles, tackling "a dual lens of masculinity and femininity" to unpack the shapeshifting song's core themes of "fighting for vulnerability, empathy and strength." The gorgeously conceived visuals are paired with lush yet booming orchestration, co-produced by ARIA and Abraham Kunin — who readers may recall worked with none other than the Dalai Lama on the spiritual figurehead's debut album Inner World.
