Juno Is Share Stunning Clip For 'Floating'
Good lord Gussie Larkin and Ezra Simons (the team behind Earth Tongue) know their way around a roll of 16mm film — their clip for 'Floating' by Dunedin's Juno Is is just the dreamiest visual addition to the track. Made with support from NZ On Air, the video was filmed amongst the otherworldly landscapes of former mining town Saint Bathans in Central Otago. Juno Is songwriter Mackenzie Hollebon (Albion Place, Lacuna) is a vision alongside her band mates / backup dancers, all fitted in egg shell blues and nostalgic pastels. It's a total treat to see the whole crew staring deadpan down the barrel of the camera, dripping in saturation and fuzz before vertigo-inducing vistas. Special mentions go out to the literal horse cameo, the tiny dinghy they're all elegantly perched in, and what I can only describe as some sort of electric lyre.
'Floating' is the very first drop from the four-piece's debut album Floating Alone, the momentous follow-up to their lavish 2020 psych-pop EP Creature Of Habit. Watch the video and boogie along with Hollebon's spiffy, grape-vining band...
