Janaye Henry Drops NZ Covid Tracer App Anthem 'Scan In'

Annabel Kean / Friday 29th January, 2021 2:41PM

Having a hard time remembering to scan in with the NZ Covid Tracer app? Can never seem to spot those pesky little QR codes? Don't know what Bluetooth is? At long last, Aotearoa's top scientists at The Spinoff have created an unstoppable solution to all you with selective, sieve-like memories: A catchy song! Not only will you be singing "Scan in, scan in, scan scan scan in" to yourself as you wait for your phone to refocus, up-and-coming pop star / comedian Janaye Henry (Ngāti Kahu ki Whangaroa) has slipped some handy tips into the lyrics too. Phone battery spent or forgot it completely? No worries, sign in old school styles with pen and paper. For those of you who reckon you can scan in with your built-in app aka the hippocampus, Henry asks "Ka taea e koe te maumahara, maha ngā wāhi ia rā?" and the answer is no, I highly doubt you can recount every place you visited last Saturday between 7pm and 3am. Nice try, just do as she says...
