Stereolab Share Video For 'Household Names' From 'Electrically Possessed' [Switched On Volume 4]

Those who caught Stereolab when they visited Aotearoa during the pre-Covid days of early 2020 can confirm the recently reactivated 'groop' still sound as as urgent and danceable as ever. With a shared history stretching back to the early '90s and a seemingly bottomless back catalogue, the English-French retro-futurists have a fourth instalment of their consistently superb Switched On rarities compilations ready to roll out in late February. They've unveiled today an evocative visualiser vid for 'Household Names', which originally appeared on their long out of print 2000 mini-album The First Of The Microbe Hunters, featured in full on Electrically Possessed [Switched On Volume 4], alongside "one-off and hard to find tour 7"s, compilation tracks, art installation work," plus unreleased outtakes from recording sessions for Mars Audiac Quintet (1994) and Dots and Loops (1997), crammed onto three covetable vinyl LPs. Fun fact: Flying Nun released the second volume of Switched On (Refried Ectoplasm) all the way back in 1995 — at one point it seemed like everyone had a copy of the digipak compact disc version floating around. Take in the vid for 'Household Names', plus office chair boogie-inducing recent single from the compilation 'Dimension M2' right here...

'Electrically Possessed' [Switched On Vol. 4] is out digitally, on compact disc and triple vinyl LP on Friday 26th February via Warp Records and Duophonic UHF Disks.
