Through tuning in each morning to Rachel Ashby's always excellent and informative 95bFM Breakfast show, I've become happily addicted to the post-punky, spoken-word sounds of station faves Dry Cleaning. So naturally my ears pricked up at the news the South London four-piece have announced the forthcoming release of the debut album New Long Leg. New single ‘Strong Feelings’ grooves along at a relatively gentle pace compared to their spikier recent 'Scratchcard Lanyard' (also featured below), as vocalist Florence Shaw rolls around notions of being "secretly being in love with someone who doesn’t know it, and Brexit’s disruptive role in romantic relationships.” Funnily enough there's an Aotearoa connection in guitarist Tom Dowse's digitally mulched accompanying video, which was created after "Google searches brought together an informational video on road building basics from New Zealand and Massachusetts-based glitch artist, Sabato Visconti." Maybe if borders ever open again, Dry Cleaning could Google themselves up a tour of our shores? That'd be very cool indeed, not unlike their latest tune ‘Strong Feelings’...

'New Long Leg' releases on Friday 2nd April via 4AD.
