Listen To David Adison's Album 'David Addison'
A posthumous album of songs by Tāmaki Makaurau songwriter / multi-instrumentalist Adison David Whitley aka David Adison has been released, marking the third anniversary of the much-loved member of NIISA, Heroes For Sale, milk and CHEATS' death by suicide in 2018. Completed from unfinished recordings by the artist's younger brother Jordan Whitley (aka Briar Mead), who also made music with Adison as V.TOOMS, the seven track collection was originally intended to be a collaboration between the pair for the David Adison project. Upon Adison's passing, Jordan (who co-wrote and plays guitar and bells on 'Knice' and ‘Blayzum’) first put the songs to one side, deciding after much consideration to bring the collection to light with no extra recordings added. Mixed and mastered with care by Jordan, using the original Ableton file names as track titles, the resulting album David Addison (with one extra 'd') is an emotionally powerful tribute to Adison David Whitley's fearlessly adventurous sonic universe — encompassing distortion-drenched shoegaze, doomy metallic dirges, beatific textural soundscapes and more. 100% of the sales from the album will be donated to MusicHelps, listen to Jess Fu's insightful conversation with Jordan about the album for 95bFM here and hit play below...
