Team Dynamite Share New Album 'Respect The Process'
With little more than a week's warning, Team Dynamite announced their long-awaited album Respect The Process was coming out March 5th, then a few days later dropped a behind the scenes mini doco produced by Years Gone By Records' Tom Scott (Avantdale Bowling Club). The Team Dynamite crew reminisce on their nearly two decades of collaboration, from free-styling together in their high school years, up until today's milestone collection. Tony Teez, Haz Beats and Lucky Lance have built something really very special on Respect The Process, and it doesn't take watching the documentary to understand the time and love that's been poured into it.
From opening track 'Images' the album emanates waves of warmth, and defines a hard-to-pin-down, yet iconic branch of the New Zealand hip-hop sound. Haz Beats has worked his magic, finding ways to mix in samples, voice breaks and keep every bar fresh, without losing Team Dynamite's almost fuzzy, nostalgic wash. Rewarding both aurally and visually, the Respect The Process cover art and sleeve feature images by lauded photographer Glenn Jowitt, taken throughout 1980s Niue, Tonga, Sāmoa, Tokelau and the Cook Islands. Take a Friday breather with the latest opus from Team Dynamite...
