The first two singles from Negative Nancies' forthcoming debut album HEATWAVE instantly conjure (for this writer) vivid memories of the Ōtepoti trio letting rip in the most awesome way to a jam-packed Wine Cellar crowd at The Others Way 2019. Sounding like life on a knife edge, lead single 'Monkey Chest' is a heroically muscular synth-rock banger seemingly beamed out of a cable access skate-punk nightmare which we hereby designate "song of the day," whilst the seven minute title track engulfs listeners in a glistening fog of droney dreaminess, magicked up by the team of Tess Mackay, Emilie Smith and Mick Elborado.
