The very first release from Pōneke-based imprint Strange Behaviour, Ludus aka Emma Bernard makes a splash with the producer's newly launched debut album Two of the Same, which was to be celebrated with a party at Valhalla on Saturday until Covid frustratingly nixed everybody's weekend plans. Created using Synthstrom Audible's NZ-made electronic box of tricks the Deluge, plus a variety of software and field recordings, Two of the Same teleports this listener away from my laptop into vividly realised environments of sound — maintaining a club-friendly groove across nine tracks while cascading synths mesmerise minds and move bodies.
