Watch Ladyhawke and Broods' Video For 'Guilty Love'
Two of Aotearoa's reigning queens of pop have put their brainy brains together on smanging track 'Guilty Love', a song about grappling with one's sexuality following the brutal experience of a Catholic education. While recording her next album in Los Angeles with Carly Rae Jepsen and Kacey Musgraves producer Tommy English, Pip Brown aka Ladyhawke invited Broods' Georgia Nott to one of their studio sessions. Knott says they ended up having a classic "in-studio heart to heart", and talked about "growing up religiously and how we carried a lot of shame around the idea of what a woman (or person) should be". The video follows the high school days of two girls hiding their relationship from everyone around them, featuring breathtaking cinematography and some perfectly lit locales. Ladyhawke hopes 'Guilty Love' and its visuals can "help anyone going through the same thing to know they’re not alone”. Watch and listen here...
Ladyhawke’s forthcoming album is due for release later this year.
