Freshly squeezed out of Palmerston North, the now Pōneke-based duo Fruit Juice Parade have announced their second EP the more you question, the further you get from the answer and served up the first and opening track 'the more you don't know the less you know'. Yes, this single has the exact same name as their 2018 debut EP, but what's the point of being in a cool band if you can't have a bit of fun confusing people? To be fair, co-vocalist and drummer Tharushi Bowatte (Queen's Cup) wrote the lyrics in the same Fruit Juice Parade era as their first EP, while the pair were making their way through their last year of high school. When guitarist Shannen Petersen (Sports Dreams) sings "What’s left for me in this room? I’ve slept inside and gazed around" there's a sense of closure and nostalgia, drawn specifically, as Bowatte recalls, from a moment "Alone in the classroom where I took Year 13 English, it’s summer, so the cicadas are whirring and I’m dozing after a long last year of school". Luckily we don't have to wait too long for the next three tracks — rest of the EP is out March 25th...

Fruit Juice Parade's sophomore EP 'the more you question, the further you get from the answer.' is out Thursday 25th March on Papaiti Records.
