Carnivorous Plant Society Announce 'Tour Of Oblivion'
Celebrating the launch of their brand spanking Carnivorous Plant Society Present: 'The Plants' EP dedicated to the continent of South America, bandleader Finn Scholes and his merry troupe have been working overtime to organise the absolutely humongous Tour Of Oblivion, taking over venues all throughout Aotearoa in March, April and May. As spellbinding live as they are beaming out from your digital device, C.P.S. performances have included projected animations created by Scholes (who also wrote and drew 2019's must-read The People Below The People Below graphic novel) to conjure a mind-zapping audio-visual gestalt. They promise "stories of dystopian futures, alien empires and trans-dimensional travel will unfold and your mind is guaranteed to melt" — take in the tour info right here, rounded off with Tāmaki Makaurau headline shows at The Wine Cellar and Leigh Sawmill Cafe...

Press release:
Carnivorous Plant Society are back! Allow New Zealand’s favourite psychedelic jazz band to take you on a journey from the streets of Mexico City to the mountains of Asia then straight to the depths of hell!
The talented quartet of four of New Zealand's most accomplished musicians perform their original compositions that will ignite the imaginations of both children and adults alike. Featuring Finn Scholes, Eric Scholes (Brett Adams replaces Eric from 17/4), Michael Barker and Sean Martin-Buss.
The stories told in the music are echoed visually by hand-drawn animations drawn by band-leader Finn Scholes, who happens to be NZ's best trumpet player (and who also plays tuba, vibraphone, piano, and organ).
