N.T. Honey Drop Single 'Suspicious Cat' + Announce Release Show
Inspired by Portland outfit Valet, N. T. Honey's Anya Henis explores the feline, "bossy, comforting, elusive, symbolic" nature of music in new single 'Suspicious Cat'. From their forthcoming debut album Accidental Punk, the song is a nourishing slice of lo-fi Tāmaki songwriting, just far enough off the beaten track to satisfy the punks, with plenty of melodic ohs, woahs and "Hey suspicious cat!"s to scream along to. The lyrics tell a story of a cat that just hisses, scratches, screams and collects "specimens" — a tale as old as time. Now including Futurians co-founder Ducklingmonster and Jade Farley of Pumice and the Gladeyes, the all-star N. T. Honey crew are throwing an album release party at Wine Cellar next month, and will be joined by fellow Tāmaki four-piece Wellness and a debut live set by Tom. Tickets are available now, so grab yours and have a dance in honour of your favourite screamy cat...
