Listen To '...And It Could Be Right Now - New Music From Ōtepoti / Dunedin'

Annabel Kean / Album art: Liam Hoffman / Tuesday 13th April, 2021 12:33PM

As all good compilations do, the first yarns of ...And It Could Be Right Now were cast on at a Port Chalmers baby shower late last year. Head compiler Chris Wilson (Gold Medal Famous, Selective Yellow, Chris Hesitation) dishes up an eclectic mix, with noisy duo Night Lunch tucked in between the gentle acoustic folk of Robert Scott (The Clean, The Bats), Bathysphere's angsty shoe gaze 'See Ya' demo, and a haunting, dirgey track from Tiny Pieces Of Eight. It's a sonically diverse bunch — as Wilson says that means "There's probably something for everybody", not to mention it's an invaluable snapshot of Ōtepoti's finest offerings in 2021. Mastered by Dale Cotton, the comp was launched on Friday at ADJØ by none other than Dunedin Mayor Aaron Hawkins. Do as the Mayor does and listen to And It Could Be Right Now...
