The Datsuns Unleash Rippin' Single 'Dehumanise'

Annabel Kean / Friday 23rd April, 2021 1:56PM

The Datsuns have unveiled another high-intensity track from their forthcoming album Eye To Eye, the band's first collection in six years. Before the new drop 'Dehumanise', the Aotearoa gat fanatics had already let loose mind-bending numbers 'Brain To Brain' and 'Suspicion' in recent months, with recurring first class single art from Tāmaki artist / designer Callum Rooney. Read up on the fascinating origin story of The Datsuns in our team-up with solid gold archivists AudioCulture.

Vocalist and bassist Dolf de Borst dove deep into the origins of 'Dehumanise':

"Dehumanise is another Sci-Fi inspired number, about being literally stripped down to your utilitarian parts by the machines and machinations around you. The main parts were written on tour, opening for Graveyard in Europe some years back. I was listening to a ton of heavy 70's rarities at the time, sampling their drum intros in Garageband to make demos. This one features more custom fuzz guitar FX courtesy of Christian and also my first attempt at a synth solo, wild!"

The Datsun's forthcoming album 'Eye To Eye' is out May 28th on Hellsquad Records.
