Powertool Records are making a big to-do of their 20th anniversary, dusting off a top-shelf 38-piece tool box of local rockin' rabble-rousers to celebrate twenty years of alt-rock and almost 200 releases. Powerfest is an expansion of the label's Kaleidoscope World Series showcase that they've been putting on since 2003, but this time they've got nearly 40 bands, four stages and are linking up with the New Lynn record fair. Powerfest - A Rock Festival in New Lynn.
Powertool Records are celebrating their 20th Anniversary as an independent record label. They have operated here in New Lynn over that time and have released close to 200 albums, organized thousands of shows and tours and championed alternative rock music since 2001. This festival not only features Powertool acts but also bands from the Whau and acts that have played at their live venue UFO.

The best in local alternative rock and punk that NZ has to offer.
Also on the morning leading up to the festival will be a record fair at the same venue in conjunction with Alien Record Shop from 10am - 1pm.
