Listen To The Chills' New Album 'Scatterbrain'
The Chills' new album Scatterbrain has at last landed digitally on an appropriately frosty Friday, with fresh tunes to warm you up from the ears down. This is the band's seventh album in forty years of rock'n'roll, and arrives at the tail end of a massive New Zealand wide tour, coinciding with an explosive Flying Nun centric Powerstation show tonight with The Bats and Purple Pilgrims.
If the album's title is describing the nature of its own sound, in this case being scatterbrained isn't a hinderance in any sense. From 'Monolith' onward every track is a dynamo, with cycles of crescendo right the way through to epic closer 'The Walls Beyond Abandon'. Even mellower cuts 'Hourglass' and 'Safe And Sound' don't get close to dampening the album's momentum, only adding to Scatterbrain's classic Chills' pop aura. There are just three dates left on their tour - info and album stream below...
