Merk Performs 'H.N.Y.B' - UTR Trash Recital Episode 2

We're stoked to share the second episode of our new web series created in collaboration with the talented gang at Sports Team: UTR Trash Recital!

For each episode of Trash Recital we've invited some of our favourite Aotearoa artists into the UTR studios to perform one of their signature songs, re-created using everyday items selected from a treasure trove of literal trash, collected by Sports Team from Tāmaki Makaurau's finest op shops / second hand stores. Trash Recital not only provides a launchpad for stunning reimaginings of recent classic tunes, but also the perfect opportunity for a chinwag with our local musical heroes.

Our second episode stars Merk aka Mark Perkins, who's been making moves in a major way in 2021. The Tāmaki songwriter's splendid new sophomore album Infinite Youth has been praised by the worldwide music press, he's been dropping effortlessly charming music vids like some kind of musical Santa, and he's currently mid-way through his first ever nationwide tour with band, concluding this week in Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin [tickets available here]. Merk generously swung by the studio to perform his magical seasonal hit 'H.N.Y.B', reimagined for your listening and viewing pleasure using all sorts of knick knacks including an alarm clock.
