Jazmine Mary Shares Video For 'Move Me'
Some days you wake up with a sense of emptiness, a hollow ache that yearns for something intangible. Then Jazmine Mary releases a music video featuring Peter Ruddell (Wax Chattels, Sulfate) dressed as a beautiful heap of soup dumplings, or perhaps an ethereal string of garlic bulbs, and you feel complete again. Created by Jazmine Mary and Courtney Rodgers with support from NZ On Air, the visual accompaniment to 'Move Me' from their debut album The Licking Of A Tangerine is set in a surreal world where fish grow on trees and enormous white roses bloom directly from the ground, all to the sound of bubbling sax and bongos. Ruddell and Jazmine Mary are joined by Misty Frequency, Rewa Fowles, and Kyah Dove on rolling hills, engaging in a bit of low-key jiggling and shuffling. Dunno about you, but this video sent me violently spiralling into long lost memories of Teletubbies 'Magical Events'. Taking a step into the 'Move Me' universe in the video below, or on Jazmine Mary's tour with Fraser Ross next month — also supporting Kane Strang at Whammy on 6th August with Emily Edrosa...
