Audio Foundation Announce 'A Room That Echoes' Festival
Aotearoa's indefatigable Audio Foundation team are following up mid-June's Now! Here! This! Ōtautahi extravaganza with an all new four day aural experience named A Room That Echoes — "a festival of immersive music, surround sound and deep listening." Happening in and around their Tāmaki Makaurau HQ in late July / early August, the snazzily abbreviated A.R.T.E. (great job whoever came up with that title), will showcase both recorded works and live performances from artists throughout the globe, promising "unique technological listening experiences from a lineup of extraordinary international and local performers and composers." Overseas artists contributing to A.R.T.E.'s impressive bill include US electronic music pioneer Suzanne Ciani (whose 2016 collaborative album with Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith Sunergy remains hugely popular), while our local contingent includes works and performances by Phil Dadson, Jo Burzynska, Richard Francis, Kraus, Flo Wilson and more.
NOTE: This festival showcases both prerecorded and live works — live performers for the festival are marked with 'LIVE' below...
