Ōtepoti songwriter Adelaide Dunn (Milpool, Repulsive Woman) has been quietly brewing their debut album How Does This Sound? over the past three years, writing the bulk of it for their honours degree with supervisor Dr. Graeme Downes (The Verlaines). Out today via local imprint Trace / Untrace under the moniker Adelaide Cara, How Does This Sound? traverses baroque pop, rock and dreamy psychedelia over ten cohesive tracks, exploring Cara's experience of Ōtepoti living. From love song to the city 'Eden' to pop earworm 'Romantic, Platonic', Adelaide Cara relays a wealth of emotional highs and lows, polished by Auckland via Dunedin mastering hot shot Steven Marr at Roundhead Studios. Dunn shared on social media this morning:

"22 years in the dreaming and almost 3 years in the making. Words cannot even begin to express the gratitude I have for the amount of energy poured into this album by so many beautiful people. Listen to it on Bandcamp and everywhere else. It's no longer just mine, it's yours too xxx".

See Adelaide Cara live later this month, along with Laney Blue and Calla at the South Dunedin Community Hall...
