Sit Down In Front Return With Single + Animated Video 'Don't Drink Bleach'
Gisborne teen punk sensations Sit Down In Front are back with their first new song since the band exploded onto airwaves with their 2020 debut album Confessions Of A Pie Thief. Referring to one of the more memorable shambolic moments from the now-passed Trump Presidential era (from countless startling examples of public ineptitude), SDIF's ripping 'Don't Drink Bleach' goes to show that sometimes you do need to state the obvious, as some doofuses will evidently believe anything. The first anthem revealed from a new EP set to drop in 2022, 'Don't Drink Bleach' is out today with an exceptionally swanky animated video created by the Mukpuddy team with support from NZ On Air — putting a fun spin on singer Cory Newman pleading for sanity against the anti-human march of industrial capitalism. The band explained the origins of the tune...
"Don't Drink Bleach was penned during a crazy time in world history when everyone was watching the news or listening to the radio waiting for updates on the state of the world. There were all manner of suggestions emerging from mouths of leaders around the world. One such comment that hit our ears was the concept of cracking open a bottle of bleach and taking a swig to kill the virus. This didn’t seem quite right, and the band felt compelled to warn the world against it.
In true punk fashion, this is an irreverent commentary on a comment made by the leader of the free world, during a time that will be remembered and talked about for generation to come."
