Waiata Māori Music Award winner and Pacific Music Award nominee La Coco returns with 'Gone', a beat heavy track featuring lyrics exploring the ideas of love and loss. Through organisation Oceans Before Me, La Coco linked up with mentors and Polynesian Panthers members Tigilau Ness, Melani Anae and Alec Toleafoa, which sparked new themes in her songwriting, specifically the grief of leaving your home and never going back: "When our people migrated and moved away, they had left People, Land and Precious things behind.
