Coolies Announce Ōtautahi Show w/ Hob, Cuticles, Bad Evil
Tāmaki Makaurau's legendary noisy punk trio Coolies have announced an incredibly rare gig in Ōtautahi / Christchurch, playing Lyttelton Coffee Company this month with buds Hob, Cuticles and mask-wearing rockin' man of mystery Bad Evil. Performing in their super city hometown in September as part of The Others Way 2021 festival, Coolies' recent retrospective collection South Auckland Girls In The Garage was curated by none other than Sonic Youth co-founder Thurston Moore, who declared "The Coolies are the best band in the world! Well there's a lotta best bands in the world but for right now for my brain and heart and soul The Coolies are THEE BEST." Back in 2019 we said "The impact of Coolies on Aotearoa's contemporary DIY / punk music community can't be overstated" — come see what all the fuss is about and don't miss Coolies letting rip on 21st August...
