From the depths of Te Wai Pounamu, Ōtepoti Franken-band NightZilla emerges with a rumble of thunder and crack of lightning! Never mind Koizilla and Night Lunch's distance of genre, the two bands are close in friendship and collaboration, splitting their forthcoming vinyl EP right down the middle to share their complex sounds on one side each. In addition to releasing a joint 12", Night Lunch's Liam Dorf, Liam Hoffman and double diddley bow will set off on a rip-snort Aotearoa tour with their new wax mates Koizilla this September and October. Whether you're itching to belt along the words to Night Lunch's doom hit 'House Full Of Shit' or yearning for a chance to get low to Koizilla's groovy flute-rock track 'I Can't See Anything', there's something for everyone on the NightZilla five-stop spring tour, including a super mysterious secret show on September 4th. Kia ora from Ōtepoti! Do you like a) surf riffs, b) dancing/ thrashing about, and 3) live bands? You do?! Well, this town is exporting two of its great bands: Koizilla and Nightlunch, to a bar most likely in driving distance near you.
Between the two groups they have recorded a Split EP and released on one, double sided vinyl, one side each. The two bands have a long running relationship, and is a great example of the support and love Dunedin bands have for each other, despite being two very distinct bands!
On the one side we have energetic, surfy riffs of joy from the 4-piece-team Koizilla. On the other, a salty array of heavy tones and crunches from the 2-piece meal deal, Night Lunch. It's going to be a really fun tour, a true artisanal music experience.
