Deep in the mines of the Pōneke music scene, pickaxe in hand and torch upon brow, what precious ores do I unearth but two glittering The Golden Awesome shows nestled into one gleaming September weekend. Already announced as one of the rare and noteworthy acts selected for this year's The Others Way festival, The Golden Awesome are doubling their shoegazey reach with a hometown show at Wellington's Pyramid Club the night after their triumphant Tāmaki festy appearance. Armed with Top Gear producer Stef Animal (also of Mestar fame) and members of Mink and Cloudboy, The Golden Awesome will be barrelling their way down the North Island on Saturday the 18th for a not-to-be-missed headline show at Pyramid Club, featuring electronic whizz Kolya.
