Rhian Sheehan and Arli Liberman 'Spectral Atmospheres' New Dates Announced

With their Spectral Atmospheres events originally set to take place in September, Rhian Sheehan and Arli Liberman have made the safe and sensible move to postpone their Tāmaki Makaurau and Pōneke collaborative shows until November. Both Aotearoa composers are currently finalists for significant local awards, with Sheehan in the running for APRA Best Original Music in a Series Award and Liberman in the top three for the APRA Best Original Music in a Feature Film Award (for Savage) — to be presented as part of the Silver Scroll 2021 ceremony on 14th October.

Described as "a series of intimate, emotive soundscape-focused collaborative performances," the pair will be working closely with light artist Sam Caldwell, who'll be projecting colourful organic visuals created on the spot using oils and dyes, and supported by Jazmine Mary in Auckland and Dream Chambers in the capital.

"Both Arli and I very much looking forward to bringing you all together to experience our Spectral Atmospheres shows. As artists we’re in the business of congregation and empathy, which in many respects are the antidote to many of the challenges we currently face today." — Rhian Sheehan
