Listen To Aunty Rae's (Holly Afoa) Debut Single 'Wedding Vows'

To become her full noise, sultry RnB self, Holly Afoa has transformed into alter-ego Aunty Rae for new track 'Wedding Vows', her "sonic summary of millennial romance". This time last year Afoa had not long released Sister, her first and last EP under her own name, on which she dedicated each of the five songs to important women in her life.

Now Aunty Rae finds inspiration closer to home, using the new moniker to write about "affliction, romance, and femme empowerment", specifically on 'Wedding Vows' about a generation lacking communication skills and her fight to find the middle ground in a relationship. The song is quietly cutting, Aunty Rae's hard truths almost hidden in her silky vocals and fiery spoken word, layered over beats and production from Akshay Raju. 'Wedding Vows' is Aunty Rae giving listeners permission to "light up, put your headphones on, listen to some boombap and send them a text saying I'm not waiting for you, seeeee ya laterrrrr", and I would recommend you do exactly that...

'Wedding Vows' is out now on major streaming platforms.
