Pōneke via Arrowtown songwriter Sofia Machray unveils her third official single this morning, the raw and electric 'The Untold'. The latest, highly emotive track from Machray follows 'Milky Ways' and her alt chart topping debut 'Handstands', and takes her indie-pop sound down a darker path and her vocals to a wild new level. Machray says 'The Untold' first started taking shape five years ago, and as she's grown older the song has morphed and expanded over and over, taking on new meaning along the way. As we hear it now, 'The Untold' tells a story of resilience, and not letting life's hurdles stop you from getting on with the good stuff — in other words, "this song is a gentle reminder to not let the small things bother you and to accept that there are some things you can’t control". The track takes you on a journey itself, from the gentle finger picked intro, into the slow build, uplifting toms and eventual stormy crescendo that rocks out for the final, heartbreaking 60 seconds.

Last month her double header tour with fellow Te Whanganui-a-Tara band DOONS hit a bump in the road, but they've got back on their horse and rescheduled a San Fran hometown show for mid next month.
