Muroki Drops Sparkling Single 'Surfin'
Raglan rising star Muroki got a hefty amount of local live shows under his belt this year before the doors slammed shut on unrestricted gigs in Aotearoa. Notably the first signee to pop megastar Benee's imprint Olive, Muroki helps take the edge off Tuesday drudgery with sparkly summer jam 'Surfin'. More introspective than the title suggests, the silky-voiced singer rides an uplifting wave of vintage breakbeats while he paints a picture of life bouncing from couch to couch as a musical nomad — grappling with the oft-unglamorous, sometimes lonely routine of an artist on the move that might ring spookily true with listeners' own experiences (personal flashback to a particularly wayward six months sans-flat in Wellington). 'Surfin' is out now on major streaming services.
