Violet Hirst Shares 'Songs From The Futuna Chapel'
The real magic of listening to a recorded live show is found in all the gorgeous organic moments, from the buzz of an enthralled audience to the squeak of guitar strings, making albums like Violet Hirst's Songs From The Futuna Chapel really sparkle. The collection of seven live tracks was performed late last month at the iconic Futuna Chapel in Karori (a stunning example of John Scott architecture) where Hirst was joined by fellow Pōneke musicians Phoebe Johnson on double bass and Hikurangi Schaverien-Kaa on drums. Hirst performs original songs new and old, including her lush 2020 single 'Sabine', interwoven with the sweetest stage banter, thanking the audience for their attention and quiet. Special mention goes to track six, a cover of Nina Simone's 'The Other Woman', a song Hirst explains she's often sung with her mother. Whilst you prepare for goosebumps and chills upon listening to Songs From The Futuna Chapel, find out where you can experience Hirst in real life as she supports Michael Llewellyn & The Darlings on tour in October and November...
