Cate Le Bon Returns With Single / Video 'Running Away'

Cate Le Bon is back with an absolutely dreamy new audio-visual creation, heralding the launch of the Welsh songwriting sensation's forthcoming album Pompeii in early 2022. Named after the ancient Italian city destroyed by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius, Le Bon stated she granted herself “permission to annihilate identity” during the making of the new record, created in close collaboration with co-producer Samur Khouja. Despite the potentially apocalyptic theme, lead single 'Running Away' feels almost triumphantly playful in its woozy, sax and synth-addled splendour, amplified further by director Casey Raymond's fabulous visual treatment which sports some A+ outfit choices. Much beloved by Aotearoa audiences, fans are still buzzing about Le Bon's 2019 tour of our shores (which I'm cursing that I missed to due a show clash) and her spellbinding influence is palpable on Aldous Harding's latest single 'Old Peel'.
