The Glass Picture Unveil Self-Titled Debut EP
The Melbourne-based team of Tāmaki legend Lucy Emanuel (formerly Lucy Stewart of Las Tetas, Reserve Game, Drab Doo-Riffs) and Violetta Del Conte-Race (Primo!) offer six dreamy and impeccably catchy songs on their self-titled debut EP as The Glass Picture. Conjuring Antipodean city pop magic with dashes of Young Marble Giants-like minimalism from their home recording setup, the pair sound cool yet enchanting as they reflect upon such everyday notions as 'Sewing', 'Stairwell' and 'Horses On A Postcard'. Formed during lockdown after moving in together, the co-singing / co-songwriting duo are making their first ever live appearance this Saturday at Brunswick's Retreat Hotel with Sleeper & Snake (Amy Hill from Terry and Al Montfort of Total Control) — which I'd personally be super keen to go to were it not presently a physical impossibility from my Auckland home office HQ. Aussie punters can cop a limited edition cassette of the EP at the gig, but we all can listen up to The Glass Picture, out now via Hideotic...
