RNZ have unveiled details on their long-awaited youth platform, launching this morning TAHI: "a new digital platform for rangatahi, sharing the music, stories and culture of Aotearoa." They've rolled out a new 24/7 online stream boasting at least 40% local content (you can listen HERE), along with The TAHI List, a new Spotify playlist featuring such local pop faves as BENEE, KINGS, JessB, CHAII, Muroki and Church & AP, plus a full suite of social media pages (Instagram, TikTok, Twitter and Facebook).

Laying foundations for the oncoming year, TAHI will "start sharing commissioned podcasts and videos produced by rangatahi alongside professionals" in 2022, and there looks to be live events in the mix for the near future too. Video series set to feature on TAHI soon include The Citizen's Handbook, The Barber Shop, Amplified, ConspiraSeries, Duality, Here If You Need, and I Got You — content makers (videos and podcasts) can find out more about how to get involved HERE. Music scheduler Harrison Pali outlined the musical vision for the platform...

"We think that the best type of music is made when an artist creates their own authentic sound, so you won't just hear radio bangers on TAHI.

Our audience research showed that rangatahi are passionate about lots of different music genres and artists, TAHI will play and highlight all kinds of music, especially local."
