Watch Erny Belle's Video For 'Hell Hole'
Hell yes! Erny Belle is back with her second single 'Hell Hole', the contemplative follow-up to smouldering debut 'Burning Heaven' that dropped in late October. Based in Northland town Maungaturoto, folk newcomer Erny Belle aka Aimee Renata (Ngāpuhi) plans to share her first album Venus Is Home in January, featuring the new track as the scene-setting opener. Delving into her writing process on 'Hell Hole', Erny Belle explained "It reflects on my identity as Māori living in Auckland City and was written just before I decided to shift North and start writing Venus Is Home". The song's visuals, co-directed by Matt Hunter and Renata, take us through a series of gothic cowboy vignettes on a Te Henga farm. Between the 'Hell Hole' video and seeing The Power Of The Dog last night, I'm thoroughly inspired to get me some Western chaps...
Erny Belle's debut album 'Venus Is Home' is out January 2022.
