Joe Sampson Shares New Album 'November 2021'

Annabel Kean / Wednesday 8th December, 2021 1:26PM

Ōtautahi guitar hero Joe Sampson (T54, Salad Boys) delivers exactly what it says on the tin with new instrumental solo album November 2021. Twelves tracks long, each with expertly coined titles, Sampson's latest offering features riffs, demos and ideas from the second half of this year, compiled and recorded just last month. While his previous solo album When Did Things Become So So-So? was all microKORGs and electronic pop, the new collection is overflowing with lovely guitar jangle, sounding like he travelled back in time to '80s Dunedin — and took some proper recording gear with him. Take a dip into November 2021 and have a gander at the full gear list below, provided by Joe Sampson himself...

Danelectro 59X 12 String, Danelectro Vintage 12 String, Rickenbacker 330, Fender Toronado, Fender Telecaster, Fender Jazz Bass, Vox Pathfinder 15R, EHX Tone Corset, BBE Varicomp, Ibanez DL10, Ibanez CD10, Ibanez DML10, MXR Dookie Drive, Behringer Bass DI, samples from a Oberheim DMX, Shure SM57, Steinberg UR44, REAPER.
