Watch Jay Clarkson's Video For 'Walk Away'
Twenty-two years on from its release in 1999 (well before the existence of a certain e-reader), Flying Nun alum Jay Clarkson's (The Playthings, The Expendables) iconic album Kindle has been remastered and rightfully reissued on vinyl via UK label Rose Hobart. Plucked from the number three spot, Jay's son Sam Clarkson has created a gorgeous video for his favourite track on the album 'Walk Away'. The moody clip is an apt match for the somewhat sombre song, layering grey landscapes, gorse and seas over Jay Clarkson as she looks down the camera, telling you "Do not be brave, do not behave, do not save him, walk away".
One of the must-sees at Auckland's upcoming The Others Way festival, Clarkson wrote a few words on the new video...
"I love the mood my son Sam Clarkson (Clarkson Design) has created with this video, it perfectly suits Walk Away, which is a very sombre song - sombre yet not without gentleness. It's his favourite song off the KINDLE album and he was determined to do it justice and he sure has. Beautiful work"
