WOMAD NZ 2022 Festival PlayDay Schedule Announced
The stars are aligning for WOMAD NZ 2022, with unrestricted live events opening back up across Aotearoa and a diverse lineup of local musical talent locked in for March's three day festival over a multitude of stages. One of the best aspects of WOMAD is many artists will be performing two sets throughout the weekend, encouraging attendees to discover thrilling new sounds and future favourites, as demonstrated in the newly revealed PlayDay schedule below. Before you dive in, there are a selection of headline acts playing once you'll need to make an appointment for: Salmonella Dub, Bobby Brazuka, Fat Freddy's Drop, Avantdale Bowling Club, Hollie Smith, Lord Echo (DJ set), Ria Hall, Fly My Pretties, Topp Twins are all scheduled for exclusive one-off festival performances. Outside of the live music programme, the festival will also showcase the return of the WOMAD Poetry Slam on the World of Words stage (hosted by poet Penny Ashton) and the OMV STEAM Lab programme, which has just revealed more speakers — check out the updated details below and stay tuned for the complete timetable launch in January...
