Bandcamp Friday - From 9pm, 4th February (NZST)

Annabel Kean / Friday 4th February, 2022 1:36PM

As just about every industry settles back into business as usual, those of us who make a living in the music, arts and events worlds continue to scream into the void as shows and tours fall off the calendar en masse. While it's 100% the right thing to do, keeping our communities safe doesn't exactly pay the bills - but selling music does! And there's no better time to put cash in the pockets of musicians than Bandcamp Friday, the semi-regular fee-waiving event when artists receive all the profits from music and merch sales for 24 hours. In NZST the spending spree begins 9pm tonight and runs through until 9pm tomorrow night, with Bandcamp confirming further fee-free Fridays for March 4th, April 1st, and May 6th this year.

If you're not sure where to start, make your way to the Undertheradar monthly playlist Bandcamp links page HERE, a massive list of Aotearoa artists' Bandcamp pages HERE, or click around Bandcamp's New Zealand tag HERE. You can also peruse a small selection of sick merch below, handpicked by me...

Designed by Lily West, never before have you seen such a beautiful tote! Best worn with pink crushed velvet whilst listening to Phoebe Rings' 'Spissky'.

Embroidered: CHECK. Corduroy: CHECK. Sun smart: CHECK. Look and stay cool with one of Sunreturn's lush caps.

If you're gonna buy fancy socks, buy the fancy socks endorsed by Aotearoa fashion icon Anthonie Tonnon.

Design so good, it gets stolen! Be on the right side of music and fashion history with this sick P.H.F. tee.

It must be a Bandcamp Friday miracle - there's still a handful of DEB5000's outrageously beautiful glitter cassettes available!

Last time I looked there were just two of these JessB tees left, so set your alarm for 9PM to nab one of these bad boys.
