Princess Chelsea Returns With Single / Video 'Everything Is Going To Be Alright'

As explosions thunder in Eastern Europe and Aotearoa's biggest super spreader event continues unabated on the parliament lawns, Princess Chelsea aka Chelsea Nikkel declares 'Everything Is Going To Be Alright' on the majestic title track from her forthcoming new album. Hovering above a minimal (and highly sample-able) instrumental bed that wouldn't feel out of place on a vintage doom metal anthem, the Waiheke Island-based songwriter sings of paradisiacal futures in a dreamy manner that doesn't sound designed to reassure, while synthetic sparkles hint at pleasures more distant than present. The single's panoramic video features footage of the Nikkel attending a petting farm in Glenorchy (near Queenstown), as the artist explained...

"I went to a petting farm with no intention to make a video or film. However, I accidentally got this amazing one shot that lasted 3 minutes and in my eyes was undeniably cinematic.

Also I reckon I was unconsciously channeling Stuart Page's infamous video for AFFCO by Skeptics - he's making my next vid, so it should be special! Sorry for ripping you off Stu!

I started recording this single in 2019 when I was going through a rough patch... You can hear the tension - someone trying to convince themselves that everything is OK even if it's not."

'Everything Is Going To Be Alright' is expected to be released in September 2022 via Lil Chief Records.
