Listen To Don McGlashan's New Album 'Bright November Morning'
Aotearoa music icon Don McGlashan (The Mutton Birds, Blam Blam Blam) has unveiled Bright November Morning, his fourth studio album released under his own name. Recorded in collaboration with fellow luminaries The Others — Shayne P. Carter, James Duncan and Chris O’Connor — the new record also features contributions from Anita Clark (Motte), Luke Buda, Emily Fairlight, Hollie Smith and The Beths, the latter two lending their backing vocal talents to title dropping second track 'John Bryce'. A full feast of tunes from one of our finest musical storytellers, Bright November Morning includes earlier singles 'Now's The Place', 'Go Back In' and 'All The Goodbyes in the World' alongside seven fresh insta-classics. Originally set to tour Aotearoa in March and April, but now holding fast until the Omicron coast is clear (seemingly alluded to on sweeping closer 'Start Again'), McGlashan opened up this morning on social media about his mixed feelings surrounding launching a new record during troubled times...
"HI all. It seems absurd to be talking about releasing a record against the backdrop of current world events, but here we go. At last the album's out!! I was beginning to wonder if it was all a figment of my imagination, but it's really happening! Thanks to all of you for being so patient, and thanks to the incomparable team that played on it, recorded it, mixed it and brought it to you.
I hope you enjoy it. Cheers Don."
'Bright November Morning' is out today via major streaming services.
