Lee Martin Unveils New Album

Touring throughout Aotearoa in March, April and May, Ōtautahi-based songwriter Lee Martin unveiled late last week her new album Gypsy Soul. Born in South Africa, Martin's long player was recorded in Aotearoa with TeMatera Smith and Chris Ward (Chris and the Kingsmen), with backing vocals laid down at Johannesburg's Jazzworx studios. Citing "Motown r&b, South African gospel and Kiwi Americana" as key influences, Martin's collection is a highly polished and lushly produced suite of big-hearted pop-soul numbers.
