Moving from strength to strength, Tāmaki Makaurau electronic artist deepState has announced a forthcoming collection entitled MMXXI The Remixes, showcasing reworks of tracks from Jessica Morgan's breakout MMXXI EP. The first single to be revealed is super city rapper / producer Liam Dargaville (Te Rarawa, Ngā Puhi) aka Dbldbl's Sunset Refresh of vibey instrumental 'Sunrise' — painting pictures of mouthwatering morning feasts and rapidly fading beachside strolls following all night adventures. Launching in mid-June via Sunreturn, the EP will also include tracks by Sonya Waters, Van Staden & Bohm, Trapjaw Kelpie, Baby Zionov, Liam K Swiggs and dungeon power techno trio Grecco Romank. Smash play on 'Sunrise (Dbldbl Sunset Refresh)' and check out the full tracklist below...

"I absolutely fell in love with Sunrise from the moment I first heard it.

I was quick to bags the track once I was asked to remix a track from the album. However, I’m not a huge fan of the daytime, or bright lights in general, so I had to get pretty indulgent on the rework to bring it all the way down to my level. This was a sunset to sunrise remix. A dusty ode with all the classic stops on your way through a night crawl; Denny’s, Charlie’s, karaoke, the walk home & some tactical leftovers before bed.

It was a dream to cut up too, with so many lush ’n wavy synth lines to choose from. Though in a love hate way my fav sound was the bird sample. I think they were the most reflective of that early morning dread, especially when you’ve been making terrible decisions all night. When you hear the birds, go home." — Dbldbl

'Sunrise (Dbldbl Sunset Refresh)' is out now on major streaming services via Sunreturn.
