Julia Jacklin Shares Single + Video ‘I Was Neon’
Nothing sweeter than waking up to a brand new song from Melbourne folk-rock charmer Julia Jacklin, taking us another track closer to the release of her forthcoming third album PRE PLEASURE. This morning’s punchy offering 'I Was Neon' follows up lead single 'Lydia Wears a Cross' and lands alongside a classic self-directed Jacklin video. The clip pairs the song's energising rhythm and steady guitar thrum with a peek into two very different worlds: Domestic Glam Julia Jacklin and Whimsical Countryside Julia Jacklin. Read Jacklin's brief history of 'I Was Neon' and take in the track below...
“I first wrote 'I Was Neon’'for a band called Rattlesnack, a short-lived much loved 2019 side project that I played drums in. I rewrote it for my album in Montreal, during a time when I was desperately longing for a version of myself that I feared was gone forever. I was thinking of this song when I made the album cover, this song is the album cover really.”
'PRE PLEASURE' is out August 26 via Liberation Records.
