June Of 44 Announce New Zealand Headline Shows

Massively influential Louisville, Kentucky post-rock collective June of 44 have announced their first ever Aotearoa dates, treating fans to headline performances at Wellington's Valhalla and Auckland's Whammy Bar in March 2023. Reunited in 2018 following a nineteen year hiatus, the original lineup of Fred Erskine (Hoover), Sean Meadows (The Sonora Pine), Jeff Mueller (Rodan, Shipping News) and Doug Scharin (Codeine) will perform material from across June of 44's entire back catalogue — encompassing such seminal collections as their 1995 debut album Engine Takes to the Water, 1996's Tropics and Meridians and 1998's Four Great Points, right up to 2020's Revisionist: Adaptations & Future Histories in the Time of Love and Survival. Aficionados of sublime sounds from the post-hardcore / math rock axis will be making their pilgrimage to the following shows, joined by special guests from Sydney A Broken Sail...

Originating in 1994 in Brooklyn, NYC, June of 44 recorded and travelled tirelessly for the first 5 years of their collaboration, then stopped for a long 18-year hiatus, and then started again in 2018 with their appearance at the Uzeda 30th anniversary celebration in Catania, Sicily.

Outside of North America, June of 44 has had the privilege of performing all over the planet in such places as Taiwan, Guatemala, Europe, and Australia.

June of 44 is Fred Erskine, Sean Meadows, Jeff Mueller and Doug Scharin.

This March 2023 tour will bring them back to Australia for their 2nd time, plus a first visit to both Japan and New Zealand
